A Guide To The Bike And Walking Trails In Tampa

trails

As an entrepreneur in this city, your life revolves around your work. You spend long hours at the office, and you’re probably still in front of a computer screen (or answering emails from your phone!) late into the night. With all this work, it’s not always easy to find time to get out and enjoy all of the beautiful scenery and nature that Tampa has to offer!

Even the busiest professional needs a break, and one of the benefits of living in the Tampa area is that a rejuvenating breath of fresh air is often nearby. Use the trails below to get away from the office over lunch, to talk a relaxing walk after a stressful day, or even as a commuting path so you can enjoy all the beauty that Tampa has to offer.

Upper Tampa Bay Area Trail

The Upper Tampa Bay Area Trail is a favorite among locals because it’s versatile, well taken care of, and covers a scenic 8 miles of Tampa’s landscape. Runners, bikers, walkers (with or without dogs) and others all enjoy this wide, paved trail – and plenty of shade and water stops along the way means that even in the heat of summer, you’ll be able to cool down.

Eureka Springs

Just outside the city, this trail runs through what was once a tropical botanical garden. The lush green trail runs along Six Mile Creek and is a popular spot for hikers and walkers. The Park also includes picnic shelters and benches, making for a perfect place to bring your lunch and have a picnic break during your work week.

Myakka River State Park

A little farther out from the city center is the gorgeous Myakka River State Park. This park is a family-friendly outdoor haven with lots of activities for parents and kids, including biking, walking, airboat tours and canopy walkways. The park is one of Florida’s oldest state parks, and you’re sure to see some of the great Florida wildlife while exploring.

And don’t forget – when you feel like you can’t take a break to get outside is when you probably need it most!
